A short, impressionistic film of the Firestone Mau-Mau Society procession on January 1, 2011. It is designed to be accompanied by a lecture explaining the history and politics of these syncretic and innovative populist organizations. When filmed, the Firestone base was about to be razed to make way for a new four-lane highway, and some of the demolition is depicted at the beginning of the clip. In spite of being displaced, Firestone remains a powerful force in Freetown politics.
